Speaker 1:

Let's talk real quick about how great it feels when we decide to fully take control of our life. When you wake up in the morning and, instead of going down the to-do list and the things that you have to do, the things that you need to do, the right things quote-unquote to do when you stop for a minute and you really take control of your life, you take control of your day and you're like, wait a second, let me question do I really need to do that? Is there really, in that situation, such a thing as the quote unquote right thing to do, or am I killing myself for no reason? A lot of times, our life is bogged down by responsibilities and just makes us feel stuck and like life is just so serious and weighty and it's not always fun to take accountability and say like I am responsible for why things are the way that they are. But oh, it feels so good when you do. It feels so good when you're honest with yourself and you're like you know what I'm actually not happy with this area of my life and I feel stuck and I feel like I'm going through the motions and I just feel like it's what I have to do. But I wanna find another way, because, let me tell you, there's always another way, there's always other options, there's always light at the end of the tunnel. But the problem is, sometimes we choose just to sit and stay in the tunnel and it feels so good when we wake up in the morning and we say I'm going to take hold of my life today and I'm going to dare to switch things up. I did that this morning. I actually posted a reel on Instagram, if you want to check it out at itschristinahilliard.

Speaker 1:

And I woke up this morning and I decided that I've been taking life a little too seriously, way too seriously my business way too seriously, Work in general, money making, money in my life way too seriously. And I woke up this morning and I decided I don't want to do it anymore. I tap out, I quit the race, I'm done. I'm done, I don't want to do it anymore. What do I want to do today? I want to laugh. I want to have fun. I've got some appointments and things that I got to do and I will show up and I will do them very well.

Speaker 1:

But my focus is on laughter. Why? Because growing up I was the girl who I was funny. I was always making jokes. I lived for the laugh, I lived for the party. And she's still there. She's still part of me, but I don't live her a lot. I realized I love my life and I have a good time, but I realized's still part of me but I don't live her a lot.

Speaker 1:

I realized I love my life and I have a good time, but I realized like that part of me has been super neglected because I've been focused on building a career, building a business, trying to be financially stable on my own terms, getting over burnout and you know, getting of burnout with being a caregiver and relationally, and then also burnout career-wise. And here's the thing I just had an epiphany this morning and I was reminded that, like, at any point in time, we get to switch it up. At any point in time, we get to decide if it's working for me or if it's not working for me. And if it's not working for me and if it's not working for you, if you feel like there's got to be more, there's got to be better, then let's switch it up. Let's switch it up If it's relationally. Let's have that honest conversation. That's like, hey, I want more of this, I want to feel more alive. I want to be able to be this way and then talk about it.

Speaker 1:

If it's your job or your business that you're building and you feel like you have to show up in a certain way to be professional and credible and all of those things, but it's kind of sucking the life out of you a bit, it's sucking the fun out of it, then let's switch it up. I see it a lot with amazing people that I know who are building businesses or having businesses, where I look and I can tell like they're not having fun and it should be a great time, because if it's not a great time, then just go work somewhere for a paycheck, because it's just too hard to do it otherwise. And so I just wanted to send you this quick message because I want to encourage you switch the thing up today. Switch it up Like you may decide, like, hey, maybe it's just taking the longer route home, maybe I'm going to go get my nails done on a Thursday instead of waiting until Saturday. I don't know, it could be like the tiniest little thing, but switch the routine up, switch something up, spice your life up a little bit. It could be in a big major way or it could be in like a small way.

Speaker 1:

Like me, today I'm just going to focus on. I'm looking for the laughs, I'm looking for the joke, I'm looking for the good time throughout my day, and I truly believe that the more that we do this, the more that we encourage each other to switch it up on the regular, the more that this is what keeps us fully alive. This is what keeps us aligned with our purpose, our best life, our best self. Good luck today. Feel free to reach out to me. Let me know how it's going.
